Meet the Doctors

Independent, doctor-led, locally owned. Our clinical team is led by two experienced optometrists supported by our dedicated Dry Eye Specialist.

Dr. Mark Tufte

OPTOMETRIST

With over 855,000 individual exams, Dr. Tufte brings deep experience in medical eye care. He was voted Best Eye Doctor in the inaugural InForum "Best of the Red River Valley" contest in 2013.

His education includes undergraduate studies in Chemical Engineering at UND, a BS and MS in Physiological Optics, and a Doctor of Optometry cum laude from The Ohio State University.

Dr. Tufte spent his career developing optometry and optical departments alongside ophthalmology, then opened multiple Fargo clinics before expanding Eyes on 45th.

Dr. Rene

OPTOMETRIST

Dr. Rene is a licensed optometrist with over 25 years of experience and a member of the ND Association of Optometrists. Growing up in Jamestown, ND, he understands the importance of truly getting to know you.

He specializes in general optometry, ocular disease, glaucoma, contact lenses, post-LASIK care and ocular emergencies. He is also actively involved in disability advocacy through Hope Incorporated and the Freedom Resource Center.

MEDICAL DIRECTOR

Heavenly brings over 20 years of experience in surgical and medical eye care to your visits at the Fargo Dry Eye Center, working alongside our doctors on dry eye evaluation and treatment.
